Why has the perpetrator not faced a jury?

The family of Renee Good, the woman who was shot and killed by ICE in Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge earlier this year, is suing the US government and multiple individuals involved.

Two lawsuits were filed by Good’s partner, Becca Good, and Good’s brother, Brent Ganger. Here’s what we know about each lawsuit so far.

The first lawsuit is against the US government, seeking damages for Good’s death and the “immense suffering Renee endured in the final moments of her life.”

The suit demands a bench trial, where a judge would debate the evidence and deliver a verdict without a jury.

The second lawsuit is against multiple individuals, including Jonathan Ross, the ICE officer that killed Good; former head of the Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem; White House Border Czar Tom Homan; and many others.
This lawsuit alleges the federal government hid evidence of what happened on Jan. 7, and conspired to interfere with civil rights.

It states that Jonathan Ross fired shots that were “predictable” and the “intended product of the operation [Operation Metro Surge].”’

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and any of the individuals named in the lawsuits have yet to comment.

The image looks like a glowing yin-yang. It was made with a new technique called biphoton digital holography, where an ultra high-precision camera records the wavefunction of the entangled pair as it unfolds.

For nearly a century this lived only in math. Two particles acting as one, however far apart.

Published in Nature Photonics, the method could dramatically cut the time future quantum measurements take.
