There is no greater threat to your liberty than giving a financial incentive to a private corporation to take it away. Another GEO GROUP prison having an under strike. There is a reason for this. I have been going to prisons for nearly half a century as a lawyer. My conscience is struck by what I am seeing in these prisons and it is time an independent agency take a look at what is going on inside. Inmates generally complain about missing good food; in Moshannon Valley my clients independently are complaining to me about not getting enough to eat and the food they do get being spoiled and “unfit” to be eaten; they are generally isolated in remote locations where few are able to go (five hours from Philadelphia) (The judges are on video and never set foot in the prison); not surprisingly increased deaths; they complain of poor medical care - - one inmate needing a wisdom tooth pulled - - not done in a dentist office but in the prison not by a dentist but a student dentist how botch it and broke the wisdom and other teeth in the process and then being given only Tylenol - - Maybe Bobby Kennedy could do something about that - -for pain. Beds that are too narrow and inmates falling out of them in their sleep. Perhaps one or two complaints could be exaggerations - - but I have now heard similar stories from multiple independent sources and it is occurring in multiple GEO Group locations. Evil does not go away by avoiding a good look at it. There are few things as dangerous yo your liberty than giving a financial incentive to a corporation to take it away.

Immigrant detainees are on a hunger strike to call attention to complaints about medical neglect, mold, dirty water and a reduction of food rations.
