The Illinois Occupational Disease Act may provide for medical treatment, temporary wage benefits and in tragic cases payment to the survivors of an employee engaged in fighting our current pandemic. Those whose work exposes them to the virus including such as food store and pharmacy employees and truckers delivering supplies and who may otherwise be uninsured may receive similar benefits should they contract the disease.
