When I first started putting together the Feeding 50 Families campaign, I had no idea that 40% of children go hungry every day right here in our community (Hampton Roads). At times, I've watched people throw away food that they had just paid for without a second thought.

This project is personal to me because I was this family. I know how it feels to be hungry and not have food to eat. And what makes it worse is when you're responsible for children at the same time.

This Feeding 50 Families initiative could be much bigger than just feeding 50 families. What if we could feed the 40%? What if a million people gave $1, letting us feed 5,000+ families with groceries for the holidays?
