Let’s interact: Let’s talk about brain injuries.

If you’ve experienced a brain injury, or watched someone you love go through one, what’s the one thing you wish other people understood about it? Comment below.

Here’s the hard part: Sometimes, the person who suffered the injury doesn’t look injured.

They can walk.
They can talk.
They can laugh.
They may even seem completely fine.

But inside, everything may have changed.

Maybe they can’t concentrate like they used to.
Maybe they get overwhelmed more easily.
Maybe they forget things.
Maybe they’re exhausted all the time.
Maybe they get frustrated or emotional over things that never bothered them before.

And sometimes the hardest part is hearing:

“But you look fine.”

Tell us in the comments. You might help someone else feel a little less alone.

Mild doesn't mean minor. After a car crash, a fall, or another traumatic event, people may look perfectly fine on the outside.

But inside, they may be dealing with memory problems, headaches, difficulty concentrating, mood changes, sleep problems, dizziness, and sensitivity to light and noise.

One of the most difficult parts of a traumatic brain injury is that other people often can't see it.

Brain injuries are real, even when they're invisible.

Today was about more than backpacks; it was about investing in our community and the kids who will shape its future.

The Smith Law Center was proud to provide 400 backpacks to elementary school students at Alfred Forrest Elementary School in Hampton, Virginia.

Every child deserves the opportunity to start the school year feeling prepared, confident, and excited to learn. We’re honored to play a small part in making that happen.

Because giving back isn’t just something we do. It’s part of who we are.

Did you know traumatic brain injuries happen without a direct blow to the head?

The brain can be injured when the head suddenly whips forward and backward in a crash.

If you’ve experienced headaches, brain fog, dizziness, memory problems and light sensitivity, it may be worth getting evaluated. A concussion is a brain injury. Don’t ignore the signs.

A wrecked car is easy to see.

A brain injury isn't.

Many traumatic brain injuries happen in crashes that don't look catastrophic. Yet victims may struggle with memory loss, dizziness, confusion, sleep problems, and personality changes for months or years.

Don't judge an injury by the damage to the vehicle.

Our expertise is measured in wins, and we’ve helped our clients recover over a BILLION DOLLARS for their injuries. Call us today and put our minds to work for you. 757.244.7000
