The United States Supreme Court, less than an hour ago, confirmed what those of us fighting for LGBTQ rights have been arguing for a long time: when you fire someone for being gay or transgender, you fire them for actions for which you would not fire someone of the opposite s*x. That is per se gender discrimination. And that is covered by the Civil Rights Act.

Congratulations to everyone who has fought this battle. This day has been a long time coming.

The Supreme Court says the federal ban on discrimination "based on s*x" also applies to gay, le***an, and transgender employees.

Southern University has now officially planted its ma*****na crop, meaning there should be product available under Louisiana's Medical Ma*****na law later this year. However, that doesn't make ma*****na legal - even for someone who has a recommendation to get THC products. There is not supposed to be smokable ma*****na in these dispensaries, and we don't allow growing or consuming raw cannabis vegetation in this State. If you're wondering what is and isn't allowed, probably best to consult a lawyer (and a doctor!)
