Temporary change to our office schedule: Unfortunately, one of our employees tested positive for COVID-19. We are grateful that he currently is experiencing minor symptoms. The office will be shut down until April 8 or 9. Some employees will get tested before that date to assure the virus did not spread. Emails will be checked daily. Voicemails checked less frequently, so please use our main email for communication. Most of the staff have been either fully or half vaccinated, so we feel confident that by closing down for this brief time, we will all be able to come back to work healthy. Thank you for your patience while we all navigate through this tax season.

So proud to be attending the Virtual Women's Entrepreneurship Day Summit! Proud to be a Woman owned business! My office has exciting new ways to keep all our clients and new clients to conduct tax season and keep your payroll going during this "virtual era".

I wrote this on my personal FB page but am sharing it here for all my clients. It takes a village! We committed to keeping you safe and hope we can all help each other. MASK UP! ๐Ÿ˜ท

While my body is exhausted beyond belief, my heart is full of thanks for the amazing team I had this horrible, worse ever tax season. From our beautiful office manager, Jan Cuadra, who sadly lost her mother AND mother-in-law the first part of tax season, COVID-19 closing my doors, a small ragtag group of preparers trying to work remotely, while we arranged times to all meet at once at the office to review, missing my admins and other checker so much, extended deadlines, no annual tax dinner, no annual "closing of the desk", last minute clients because other tax offices caved and shut down, scheduling pickups as drive-thrus and bringing returns to their cars, and finally our phone system crashing Monday with no repair STILL in sight. Nope, not kidding. I just got home and headed to bed. But had to send all my love to Jan, Marcia, Molly, Michelle, Alyssa , Dan, Steve, Chris, and Russell! ๐Ÿ’“๐Ÿ˜˜ Prayers๐Ÿ™ and all of YOU is how I survived and got through. Now I need to go dry my eyes. Goodnight! P.S. Stay tuned for an email to schedule a virtual closing of the desk. But I must sleep now.

URGENT: OUR PHONES, AND IT APPEARS MANY PHONE SYSTEMS IN OUR AREA ARE DOWN. OUR EMAIL ARE WORKING. PERFECT TIMING, RIGHT?!

I'm sorry to say that Oregon Department of Revenue STILL has not committed to the extended filing and due date. They claim they will make a decision by tomorrow, March 25. Stay tuned. I will update as soon as I know. Here is their latest update:

The Department of Revenue has several options to grant relief under federal or state declarations of emergency, or when situations arise that impair the ability of taxpayers to meet their obligations. Some options and legal authority are described below.โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Oregon has issued a stay-at-home order. This office is now closed temporarily. With the tax filing and tax due date extended 90 days, we feel this is the best and safest option for our clients and for staff. Some employees have elected to work from home remotely. However, without full staff we will no longer guarantee all returns completed by April 15. Please do not worry. We WILL get them ALL completed. Our plan is to prioritize returns receiving REFUNDS and we will work on those FIRST. Please have patience and continue your wonderful cooperation as we all work together. Most important - STAY SAFE! STAY AT HOME! STAY HEALTHY! Thank you all so much!

Tax Season Update Regarding COVID-19

The Treasury Secretary made an announcement yesterday about tax relief due to COVID-19.

We expect the IRS to release detailed guidance soon, and we will communicate that information to you once it is available.

As of now, this is what we understand based on his announcement:
1- the individual filing deadline is still April 15
those who can file their taxes should file by the normal tax filing deadline
2-those who canโ€™t file by the deadline should file an extension by April 15
3-taxpayers, both individuals and corporations, can defer a tax due payment, interest-free and penalty-free, for an additional 90 days after April 15

We anticipate the IRS will also address the following:
whether or not:
1-quarterly estimated tax payments can be deferred
2-any changes related to filing 1041 returns
