Following being placed under arrest, refusing a chemical test compounds your problems. In Colorado, your refusal is an automatic longer revocation of your driver’s license. In addition, you will be classified as a Persistent Drunk Driver (PDD) and be required to use an ignition interlock device for a minimum two-year period, regardless if you are convicted of DUI.

Refuse to ride if your designated driver or sober ride falls through. Be prepared and call a ride-share! Refuse to ride in the car with an intoxicated friend. Show them you are serious about their condition and don’t trust their abilities.
