Wyche has been selected by Jasper County to serve as Greenbelt Program Manager for the County’s new $94 million conservation initiative.

Will Cook will lead the engagement alongside Rita Bolt Barker and Cary Hall, working with Raleigh West, former Executive Director of the South Carolina Conservation Bank. Together, the team will help build and administer a program designed to protect natural resources, heritage landscapes, and green space throughout Jasper County.

The work builds on Wyche’s decades-long involvement in land conservation, with generations of Wyche attorneys helping protect ecologically sensitive areas in South Carolina.

Following a great summer at Wyche, we are pleased to highlight seven exceptional law students who joined us for our 2026 summer associate program: Kathleen McDade, Dee Stilwell, Ned Horton, Dane Dobleske, Bennett Stover, Garrett Jackson, and Brandon Gee.

Kathleen, Dee, Ned, and Dane are students at the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law; Bennett is a student at the University of Georgia School of Law; Garrett is a student at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law; and Brandon is a student at the University of Virginia School of Law. All are candidates for J.D. degrees in 2027.

It was a pleasure to work alongside them this summer, and we look forward to seeing the impact each will make in the practice of law.

Rita Bolt Barker has been elected Education Officer of the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources (ABA SEER). In this leadership role, Rita will help guide the Section's educational programming, overseeing the development of continuing legal education programs, webinars, conferences, and other professional development opportunities for environmental, energy, and natural resources attorneys nationwide.

ABA SEER is a leading national forum for lawyers practicing in environmental, energy, and natural resources law.
