My name is Richard Stroup and I am one of the new interns for Michael and Russell. My role at the firm is to deal with the day to day operations. Anything from organizing case files, making exhibit notebooks or closing out cases. Being an intern for the firm has been a blessing, allowing me to gain invaluable knowledge while working alongside some of the smartest legal minds in the state. Outside of the firm I study at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I am heavily involved with campus life including the prelaw community and sports groups. Originally from New Jersey, Erin moved to North Carolina in early 2019 to pursue her interests and explore new opportunities. Those interests eventually led her to develop a passion for the legal field and pursue a career in law. She is a recent graduate of Wake Technical Community College, when she earned her degree in Paralegal Technology. She is excited to bring her education, organizational skills, and interest in the legal profession to the firm. She looks forward to assisting with administrative duties and supporting the team in providing excellent service to clients.

A house divided! 🏈💜💛❤️

When your alma mater takes on your new home team, deciding who to root for can get a little complicated! Ashley-Nicole and her family got out to watch ECU take on App State this weekend in Greenville, and Chaplain even gave both kickers a run for their money before kickoff.

A little friendly competition can be fun, but not every divide has to turn into a battle. The same can be true in divorce. Collaborative divorce gives families a way to work through disagreements together, focusing on communication, compromise, and finding solutions that work for everyone, especially the kids.

You may be on different “teams,” but you can still work toward the same goal: a healthy future for your family.

I understand what it takes to steward a successful blended family because I have lived and breathed it—first as a child and now as an adult.

Blending a family takes patience, grace, open communication, and a commitment to ensuring every person feels seen, heard, and valued. It is not always easy, and there is no perfect formula, but with love, consistency, and mutual respect, a blended family can become something truly beautiful.

My personal experiences have shaped not only who I am but also how I support families navigating change. I understand the challenges, the emotions, and the importance of creating a healthy foundation for the future—because for me, it is more than professional. It is personal.
