🚑FIRST AID FRIDAY🚑

Happy Friday! To continue our mini series on Epinephrine Injectors, today we are talking about the Auvi-q injector.

There only 2 differences with this injector to be aware of. First is that this one has 3 doses, Adult (Red), Children (Blue), and Infants (Purple).

Also this injector speaks to you once you remove it from it's protective sleeve on how to administer the shot.

With autumn around the corner, children are returning to school, leaves are changing, cooler weather is coming. But one big thing is also returning. Football!

High School/Pop Warner football is coming in full swing. But with that of course comes the dangers of contact sports. But with the right training for the coaches and staff, we will have more outcomes like this young man.

One of the few updates for the CPR 2025 guidelines is the Chain of Survival. Rather than having an adult and pediatric chain, they have combined them into one. Making things more streamlined.

Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

AEDs are more available than ever. You can find them in a large gathering place or the local restaurant. When Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) happens, this tool can greatly improves the victim's chance of survival. Plus, it makes the rescuer's job easier because it will tell you exactly what to do.

Here are some common questions you should ask yourself when going to a public place or you are at school:

1. Do you know the location of the AED?
2. Is the location properly visible with a sign (Heart with electric bolt running through)
3. If your business or school has one, are you and the rest of the staff trained on how to use it?
