Turning 1️⃣8️⃣ is a big milestone - and it’s about more than graduation gifts, dorm shopping, and celebrating the next chapter. 🎓

Once a child turns 18, they’re legally an adult. That means parents may not automatically be able to access medical or school records, or step in to help with certain important decisions.

A few documents worth thinking about include:
🎈 Health Care Power of Attorney
🎈 Durable Power of Attorney
🎈 FERPA consent for school records
🎈 Medical privacy release forms

These may not be the most exciting part of turning 18, but they can make a big difference in an emergency or unexpected situation.

It’s one of those simple steps that can bring a lot of peace of mind - for both parents and young adults - and we're here to help. 💙

As May comes to a close, roads and neighborhoods are getting busier with more people out walking, biking, riding, and enjoying the warmer weather. ☀️🪻

That means a little extra attention from drivers can go a long way.

Watch for:
• bicyclists
• motorcyclists
• pedestrians
• runners
• children playing nearby

Spring and early summer bring more activity outside — and more responsibility on the road.

Slow down, stay alert, and help keep everyone safer.

This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to the United States Armed Forces.

Today is more than the beginning of summer or a long weekend. It is a day of reflection, gratitude, and reverence for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and for the freedoms we hold dear.

We also hold in our thoughts the families, loved ones, and fellow service members who carry that loss each day.

May we never forget their courage.
May we always remember their sacrifice.
And may we honor their memory with the respect it deserves.

❤️🤍💙

Before summer travel picks up, a little preparation can go a long way. ☀️🚗

If you’re getting ready for a road trip or long weekend away, keep safety part of the plan:

• buckle up
• avoid distractions
• don’t drive tired
• check your route before leaving
• plan for breaks on longer drives

The goal is simple — get there safely and get home safely.

As Memorial Day weekend approaches, extra traffic and longer drives can mean extra risk on the road. A few small steps before you leave can make a big difference.

May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. 🏍️

For riders, visibility and awareness matter every time you’re on the road.

A few simple reminders:

➡️ wear visible gear
➡️ stay out of blind spots
➡️ give yourself space
➡️ slow down at intersections
➡️ ride like drivers may not see you

Smart habits can make a real difference.

After a bicycle crash, the first day or two can matter more than many people realize.

Details fade quickly. Physical evidence can change. Witness information can be lost. And injuries that seem minor at first may become more serious with time.

If you are involved in a bicycle accident, a few early steps can make a real difference:

1️⃣ seek medical attention
2️⃣ document the scene if you are able
3️⃣ get contact information for witnesses
4️⃣ identify the driver and vehicle involved
5️⃣ report the incident when appropriate

Acting early is not about overreacting - it is about protecting your health, preserving important details, and making sure you have the information you may need later.

Mother’s Day can hold so many emotions at once.

For some, it is a day of celebration, gratitude, and joy. For others, it is a day marked by grief, longing, heartbreak, or quiet reflection. For many, it may be all of those things at the same time.

Today, we are thinking of the mothers who give so much of themselves every day. We are also thinking of those missing their mothers, those longing to become mothers, those navigating loss, and those carrying love in ways that may not always be seen by others.

However this day finds you, we hope you give yourself grace.

You are seen. You are valued. And you are not alone in what you carry.

Sending love to all who celebrate, grieve, remember, and hold space for others this Mother’s Day. 🪻🌷🌻
