What does exclusionary zoning mean? In its simplest terms, exclusionary zoning includes all of the policies enacted in zoning codes that prohibit certain demographics from accessing housing in certain neighborhoods. These codes often take the shape of outlawing multifamily housing, but they can also take the more nuanced forms of minimum lot sizes, height limits, and parking restrictions. Thank You Greenville County Council!

Thank you, County Council! GHF and our partners would like to thank the members of the Greenville County Council for their support of affordable housing in the county. Last month, the council voted unanimously to allocate a total of $12 million to affordable housing over the next two years. This allocation, shared between GHF and GCRA, will allow us and our partners to take larger steps toward closing the affordable housing gap in the county and making lasting change. Thank you again to County Council for their generosity and support!

Great News For Affordable Housing In Greenville SC.

On Tuesday, Greenville County Council voted unanimously to allocate $5 million annually to affordable housing. That comes in addition to the $1 million per year from Prisma that the Greenville County had already committed to spending on affordable housing. The allocation included GHF and GCRA, allowing both to work with their Greenville Affordable Housing Coalition to strengthen their efforts in closing the housing gap within the county.
