2024 - It was personally the busiest year yet as we had the privilege to welcome our fourth and final baby to our family 🩵 I wasn’t quite sure what my business would look like with our new sweet bundle and all of the extracurriculars and responsibilities that come with motherhood, but I was able to serve the most clients ever! I say this to encourage you if you’re thinking about starting your own business, going back to school, pursuing a dream that seems out of reach. There will never be a perfect time and the hardest part is often just taking that first step. Go for it and see where it takes you. You may be like myself and a year from now be amazed at how your “little dream” became more than you could have imagined. Thank you to everyone for your support and referrals as I could not do it without you! Blessings for 2025!

Western North Carolina has my heart. In those mountains, I spent my childhood vacations, graduated from college, met my husband, got engaged and married, and we brought home our first baby from the hospital. The Appalachians are so magical and they will continue to need our communal assistance to get back on their feet. If you were considering getting your estate planning done, if you do so during the month of October, 20% of all proceeds will go directly to Samaritans Purse located in Boone, North Carolina, who is doing amazing things to help those in need.

Thank you!! I started my estate planning business a year ago thinking it would be a little side gig to allow me to keep practicing law while continuing to be fully present within my children’s lives; however, all of your support turned my “little side gig” into a legitimate business and I am so very thankful! Thankful for those who encouraged me to do my own thing and for all of my clients who have utilized my services and referred me to their friends and family. If you’re thinking about starting your own business or trying something new, let this be your sign to go for it! And a huge shout out to all the other small business owners working hard to serve our special community - keep it up! Thanks again, friends 🙏🏻

Updating your Estate Plan.

Hey - it’s me, your estate planning attorney who is finally updating her own estate planning documents after moving to a different state, having children, and relationships with persons named in my documents have changed.

A general rule of thumb is to review your estate planning documents every 3 to 5 years to see if you need to update them. Top reasons to update your Estate Plan:

1. Moved to another state
2. Marriage or Divorce
3. You purchased a home
4. Children
5. Beneficiaries changed

If you don’t have an Estate Plan or need to update yours, the best time for doing so is now and I’d love to help!

It’s more than a job. It always has been and it always will be, but sometimes it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day.

For me, it’s the opportunity to make a connection with someone you might not have met in your typical day. An opportunity to provide and receive light and goodness from one another.

Jane, who started out as my client, became my dear friend as she invited me into her home to share a cup of coffee and her heartfelt poems with me (and they’re really good!). That’s what it’s all about.

I am thankful to be an estate planning attorney, but truly it is just a tool for God to use me how He desires. Whether I am in my role as mom, dental assistant, business owner, soccer coach, or whatever it may be - those are just opportunities to cross paths with someone Jesus wants me to meet and to learn from them and for me to simply love and be kind because that’s what He has always done for me.

Be the light ✨

Swipe for an original poem by my sweet friend Martha “Jane” that seems so appropriate.
