I had the honor of speaking to high school students at Clinch School’s career day today. Spreading the message of the importance of public defense in our communities is one of the great missions of being the District Public Defender.

Hopefully our discussions inspired students not to be confined or allow perceived obstacles to impeded their future. But instead to strive for and not be afraid to carve out their futures. Whether that be law school, or TCAT in Morristown (or the TCAT soon to be built in Greeneville), to Tusculum University or ETSU - the future is your for taking.

The Clinch School is the hidden gem of Hawkins County. Coming from a line of educators from my grandfather, to my dad and aunt, I am so thankful to experience the school, its staff and most of all its students. Thank you for letting me be a part of your day.
