For decades, if a manufactured home had been moved from another site, it couldn't be financed. Cash only - didn't matter how good the home was.
That changed on September 2.
Freddie Mac now allows conventional financing on moved manufactured homes, with a few conditions: an engineer has to inspect it and the report goes in the loan file, the home has to have been built for Florida weather rather than somewhere calmer, and the loan can't pay for the move itself.
Worth knowing - this is Freddie Mac only. FHA, VA and USDA still exclude moved homes, and not every lender is set up for it yet.
