As part of the recent settlement of the Zimmer v. Ottawa County lawsuit, the Ottawa County Clerk released minutes and audio from Dec 10, 2024 Board of Commissioners' (BOC) negotiations this morning. The closed-session BOC meeting resulted in large severance payouts to Jordan Epperson and Ben Wetmore--controversial hires by the (formerly) Ottawa-Impact-controlled Commission. Mr Zimmer's suit disputed the legality of the agreements and the BOC process of approving them in a closed session meeting.

Kathy Smith Kennedy has filed a case in Kalamazooo state court to vindicate a young pediatrician who clashed with her former employer.

Dr. Justine Bunka was fired from a Bronson pediatric clinic in January for what she says was speaking out against policy changes.
