Happy Thanksgiving!! We are grateful for our donors and our Santa Barbara community who allow us to change the community one child at a time.

So far this year, we’ve been able to represent the youth of Santa Barbara in guardianships, special education/discipline proceedings, and began training our board members for our Tara Halland-Ford Restorative Justice Program and handled our first two Restorative Justice cases which diverted the youth away from Juvenile Probation.

This wouldn’t have been possible without your support. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you! On if you want to kick off the holidays a little early and support SBTLC please visit our website at www.SBTeenLegal.org

Tara Haaland-Ford
9/1/72 - 7/17/21

Tara Haaland-Ford was one of the founding members of the Santa Barbara Teen Legal Clinic. Tara tirelessly fought for and represented those most in need and often overlooked. Tara believed that by educating and empowering youth, Santa Barbara and our whole world would be a better place. At the heart of this belief was Tara's commitment to Restorative Justice as an alternative to our typical criminal system.

In honor of Tara, The Santa Barbara Teen Legal Clinic is proud to announce the Tara Haaland- Ford Restorative Justice Project. While Tara left us way too early, her dream was to see Restorative Justice used in the Santa Barbara County juvenile criminal justice system and education systems. With success in Santa Barbara County, Tara's hope was that Restorative Justice would be used throughout California, and even across the United States as "true" criminal justice reform.

If you too would like to assist in furthering Tara's dream, please consider donating below. No donation is too small or too big. On behalf of Tara and everyone at the Santa Barbara Teen Legal Clinic, thank you for your support.

The Santa Barbara Teen Legal Clinic is a non-profit legal service organization serving children, youths and teens who are in need of legal services in Santa Barbara, and surrounding communities. We provide a wide spectrum of free legal services for those who typically could not afford representation, including:

-family law;
-educational law;
-immigration law; and more.

SBTLC is comprised of a number of volunteers including working lawyers and non-attorney board of directors. Every volunteer is dedicated to helping clients pursue the best outcomes in their case and work to provide them with advice that furthers that goal.

In order to keep this non-profit going, we need all the support we can get. This is such a wonderful non-profit organization that can truly use your help in donations. So many people have benefited from this organization and we want to keep helping our community during these difficult times.

Your donations would be greatly appreciated and would make such a huge difference in the lives of many.

Thank you all in advance.
