All Wayne County Government offices will be CLOSED Monday, Feb. 2 due to hazardous road conditions. Snow totals ranged from 4–10 inches across the county. Most roads remain snow-covered or impassible, especially in rural areas. Travel is highly discouraged.

There are a few scattered power outages around the County. Duke Energy crews are working now, and most outages are expected to be restored before Noon.

A heartfelt thank-you to our first responders and NCDOT partners who have been working through the storm to keep our community safe and moving.

Cold weather continues through the next several days:
✅ Limit time outdoors
✅ Dress in warm layers
✅ Let faucets drip overnight
✅ Bring pets inside
✅ Check on neighbors, especially seniors

Even though the snow has ended, this remains a dangerous situation. Stay safe and limit travel.

Please join us in celebrating Shelby Alvarado on her 6-year anniversary with the firm!

For the past six years, Shelby has been an integral part of our team, working alongside Attorney Henry Smith to provide exceptional service and support to our clients. Her professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail help drive the standard of excellence our firm is proud to uphold.

This past year has been especially meaningful for Shelby, as she and her husband welcomed their first child, a son named Chris, into the world last July. Outside the office, Shelby enjoys spending time outdoors — whether that’s kayaking on a warm day or in her garden eating the fruits of her husband’s green thumb.

We are grateful for Shelby’s commitment, hard work, and the positive energy she brings to our firm each day. Congratulations, Shelby, on six wonderful years — we look forward to many more!

We are proud to share that our very own Henry Smith was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce 2025 Annual Dinner. The honor was presented by his longtime friend, General Mark Kelly, making the recognition especially meaningful.

Henry’s dedication to Goldsboro, Wayne County, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, and the United States Air Force is unwavering and deeply impactful. His leadership, service, and commitment to community embody the very spirit of this distinguished award.

We are honored to work alongside Henry and celebrate this well-deserved recognition.
