Jim just got a call out of the blue. Maybe this because of this page.
Anyway, it was a frantic mother whose teenage son was in the office at school and the administrator wanted to search his book bag. She knew he might have something in there that could get him in lots of trouble. So she said, "Wait, let me call my lawyer." She then calls Jim. He answers his phone and patiently listens to the story. He took a moment to think then Jim simply says, "Madam, you don't have to give the school permission to search his bag. That's personal property and they have no right to search it without permission from his parent."
She called the school back and said she would NOT give the school permission to search her son's bag. The administrator gave the book bag back to her son and sent him back to class.
Needless to say the mother called Jim back and said, "Thanks so much and if I ever need a lawyer, I'll call you. And I'll tell all my friends!"
