: Saratoga County District Attorney Brett Eby has been in regular communication with the family of the 21-year-old victim of Friday night’s attack in Saratoga Springs and provides the following update:

"On behalf of the victim and her loved ones, I ask that the media and the public respect their privacy as she continues to heal.

 While the victim faces a long road to recovery, I am pleased to share that she is recovering well, with the support of her loving mother, following this brutal attack. Her remarkable strength and true heroism throughout this ordeal are nothing short of inspiring.

Please be assured that the Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office and the Saratoga Springs Police Department are working around the clock to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice."

The accused attacker, David Cruz Torres, seen here in court Saturday, is being held at the Saratoga County jail on a charge of attempted murder.
