Reviews like this remind us why we do what we do.

Estate planning is not just about signing documents. It's about helping people understand their options, make informed decisions, and feel confident that their family will be protected when life takes an unexpected turn.

Our goal has always been to make a complex process feel approachable, educational, and empowering. When families leave with greater clarity and peace of mind, we know we've done our job.

Thank you to everyone who trusts us to help protect what matters most. We look forward to continuing to guide individuals and families through the planning process and helping them create a more secure future for the people they love.

In April alone, our firm helped families protect $5,674,306.84 worth of assets.

That number is incredible.

But what it represents is even more meaningful.

It represents families who now have more stability for the future.

It represents loved ones who may be spared unnecessary financial stress.

It represents homes, savings, and legacies that families worked hard to build.

And it represents the trust our clients place in us during some of the most important planning moments of their lives.

Estate planning and elder law are not just about documents, numbers, or legal strategies.

They are about people.

They are about protecting what matters most so families can move forward with more confidence, clarity, and peace.

We are incredibly grateful to do this work, and we do not take it lightly.

To every family who trusted us in April: thank you.

It is an honor to be part of your planning, your protection, and your future.

Most people think Medicaid planning is about "hiding assets."

That's not how it works.

In fact, one of the biggest mistakes families make is waiting until a nursing home crisis happens and then trying to move money or transfer a house to children.

By then, it may be too late.

Medicaid has a 5-year look-back period in most states. That means transfers made too close to needing care can create penalties and delays in eligibility. A last-minute gift to your kids isn't a strategy. It can become a very expensive problem.

The families who preserve more of what they've worked for usually start planning before they need care, not after.

The lesson: Long-term care planning is rarely about reacting. It's about giving yourself options while you still have them.

The Medicaid 5-year look back catches a lot of families off guard. Transfers, gifts, and financial decisions made years before applying can impact eligibility, which is why planning early matters. The right estate plan can help protect your assets and avoid costly mistakes down the road.

Tragedy can strike when you least expect it. Without an estate plan, families can be left facing court involvement, guardianship issues, and uncertainty during an already devastating time. Planning ahead helps protect your children and ensures the right people can step in when needed.

Here's something I see more often than you'd think:
A family calls me after losing someone, and they say, "We thought Mom had everything set up. She had a will. She had accounts."

But there was no roadmap. No list of what she owned or where it was. No clear instructions for who was supposed to do what. Just documents in a drawer, and a family left to figure out the rest.

Having documents is not the same as having a plan. A real plan is something your family can actually follow - at the worst moment of their lives, without you there to explain it.

That's the difference between what most law firms do and the Estate Planning & Elder Law Group! It all starts with a conversation. Give us a call! 📱718-514-2066

No one likes to think about the "what if's", but having a plan in place means your loved ones aren't left scrambling during a difficult time. Estate planning isn't just about what happens after you're gone, it also protects you if you become incapacitated and unable to make decisions for yourself.

Planning ahead gives you a voice, even when you can't speak for yourself.

Putting your house in your children's names or recording a life estate deed may sound like a simple solution, but simple does not always mean best.

These types of transfers can create unexpected issues involving taxes, Medicaid eligibility, creditors, and even control over your own home.

Estate planning should be tailored to your specific goals and family situation, not based on something you heard worked for someone else.
