The biggest lemon law change in 2025: the deadlines got tighter.

The timelines are generally tied to when your warranty ends and your vehicle's delivery date, and there are strict statutory cutoffs that apply to all cases. Waiting and hoping the problem goes away could cost you your rights.

Do not guess where your window stands. Send us your repair records and we will review them for free.

Discipline is not a glamorous word. It does not make a good highlight reel.

But it is the honest answer. Sticking to the intake process. Sticking to the case assessment. Not compromising a case because the defense pushed back. Telling clients the truth when the truth is inconvenient.

Do that consistently enough and the firm gets solid. Solid enough to take on more cases, and steady enough that there is finally something left over to give back to the community that made it possible.

Not complicated. Just relentless.

Most people picture a buyback as a small check that barely covers anything. It is usually more than that.

If your vehicle qualifies, the calculation can include the down payment you made at signing, the monthly payments you have made on a defective car, and the taxes, registration, and official fees that came with it.

The idea behind it is straightforward. The law is written to put you back where you would have been if the car had worked the way it should have. Every case is different, and what applies depends on your situation.

Swipe through to see what goes into it, then message us and we will estimate yours for free.

Garage Law School is back in session. Lesson eight: default judgment.

If you are ever served with a lawsuit, do not ignore it. Miss the deadline to respond and the other side can win automatically, without a full hearing, simply because you did not show up.

People put the papers aside hoping the whole thing goes away. It does not. Silence is not a defense, and ignoring a lawsuit is the fastest way to lose one.

Follow along so you do not miss lesson nine.

"If the manufacturer will not buy my car back, I will just stop making payments."

Understandable instinct. Also one of the fastest ways to lose your case.

Your loan or lease is with the finance company. Your lemon law claim is with the manufacturer. Those are two separate relationships, and having a claim against one does not give you the right to stop paying the other. Stop paying and you risk your credit and repossession, which takes the car and the evidence with it.

If you genuinely cannot keep up with the payments, there is a proper process. Watch to the end for what it is, then call us before you do anything.

I have never thought success was one person doing well on their own. What I actually want is a circle of people who are all building something, who look out for each other, and who pick up the phone when one of us needs a favor.

You cannot manufacture that with a networking event. You can only set the table and get out of the way. That's why we host the super steak nights. Steaks, ci**rs, cars, and conversation that goes wherever it goes.

Twenty years of doing this and I still think it is one of the best things I have built.

The dealer scanned it. No codes. Scanned it again. No codes. Meanwhile your car keeps doing the exact thing you brought it in for.

Here is what matters: do not stop bringing it in. Many defects take three or four visits before they finally show up in the data or the dealer catches them. If you stop going because the scan came back clean, the eventual proof may not be enough on its own.

Keep every visit documented. And reach out at any point, you do not need to figure out the legal thresholds yourself.

"Why didn't my airbags deploy?"

That is not quite the right question. The right question is whether deploying would have prevented the injury you sustained. If yes, that points to a defect. If deployment would not have prevented any injury, there may have been no need for them to deploy at all.

It is a sharper distinction than most people realize, and it can change how a case is evaluated.

People ask why I only do lemon law.

Because the imbalance never sat right with me. On one side is a consumer who just wants a safe, working car. On the other is a manufacturer with nearly unlimited resources and a playbook for wearing people down.

For 20 years, this is all I have done. I know their strategies, the defects specific vehicles show, and how each company handles these cases.

And the way I see it, for me to win, you have to win. That is the whole point.

This is what the negotiation actually looks like: knowing the number, holding the line, and having a reputation that tells the other side you will go the distance if you have to.
Results vary, and past outcomes do not guarantee a similar result in your case.
