I recently completed the Clearbrief AI Academy training issued by the American Arbitration Association. I didn’t sign up because I was an advocate for using AI in alternative dispute resolution, but because I was curious and committed to staying on the cutting edge. With my background as in‑house counsel, I’m always mindful of the costs associated with legal proceedings and strive to manage cases efficiently and responsibly.
After taking the training, I was pleasantly surprised by the platform’s tools. Clearbrief enhances efficiency without compromising—let alone replacing—my analytical judgment. Instead, Clearbrief supports my decision-making. For example, Clearbrief enables me to build timelines, verify case law and cited provisions, and confirm references to the record. It not only identifies the reference but also provides direct links to the underlying source material, allowing me to personally verify accuracy and relevance.
While I won’t be using the platform to make decisions, resolve cases, or draft awards, it will streamline my deliberations and make my review of case materials more thorough and complete. It’s a practical way to save time without sacrificing rigor, independence, or the quality of my analysis.
