Fostering meaningful relationships with our neighbors is crucial for creating a strong and supportive community. Many of us have experienced the negative behavior of a few individuals who have taken it upon themselves to monitor our activities, publicly criticize us on the “Neighbors at Dahlia Point” page for parking on the street, and contact the non-emergency police department to file complaints and demand patrol cars to issue tickets. This is often due to the lack of parking options on the street or in guest parking areas.
Personally, I was attacked, deleted, and blocked by two troublesome individuals who serve as administrators on the neighbor page. I have preserved screenshots and photos as evidence.
Moving forward, I have decided to launch a new page focused on promoting genuine dialogue, practical solutions, and a sense of community. As homeowners, we have a responsibility to our families, children, and ourselves to maintain a peaceful living environment.
Some ideas for events and activities that can help foster relationships and a sense of community include:
• Bunko or poker nights: These events can provide a fun opportunity to get to know neighbors while engaging in friendly competition.
• Book clubs: A book club offers a great way to connect with fellow book enthusiasts and discuss interesting literature.
• BBQs: Organizing a BBQ is a classic way to bring people together and enjoy delicious food in a casual setting.
• Activities for kids: Organizing activities for children can help parents connect and establish a supportive community for families.
• Activities for adults: Whether it's a wine tasting, fitness class, or game night, there are numerous activities that can help adults connect and have fun.
Welcome! Feel free to share your thoughts and help us build a peaceful community without bullying.
