Many buyers assume they need 20% down before they can become homeowners. But qualifying down payment assistance programs may help eligible buyers with upfront costs, including down payment and closing costs.

If you’re renting, have steady income but limited savings, or simply don’t want to drain your savings to buy a home, it may be worth exploring what programs you could qualify for.

That monthly payment estimate you see on a home listing? It may not be the payment you actually end up with.

Property tax reductions or exemptions may not transfer to a new owner, and new construction can have a very different tax assessment once the home is built.
