• Numbers are handed out once the parking lot opens, and you must be physically present to receive a number.
• Numbers cannot be picked up for friends or family members.
• If you leave after receiving your number, you will lose your place and need to get a new number when you return.
• Due to time constraints, patients will need to choose between dental and vision services. Everyone can receive medical care along with either dental or vision care.

In July, Assistant Public Defender Michael Garrett, Esq. attended the 2026 All Rise Conference hosted in Nashville, TN. The four-day national treatment court event hosted over 200 educational sessions led by more than 200 expert speakers. The crowd included a diverse intersection of treatment court judges, legal professionals, behavioral health providers, law enforcement, veterans' advocates, researchers, and treatment court alumni.

While treatment courts historically anchor the event, this year's program specifically emphasized handling substance use and mental health challenges at every stage of the justice system. Attendees focused heavily on implementing evidence-based practices, risk/need screening, and trauma-informed care.

Michael is the dedicated treatment court attorney for the Livingston County Treatment Court. He has a passion for the intersections of mental health, substance use, and the criminal justice system. He enjoys working within our local treatment court and is always seeking ways to improve and expand problem solving courts for our community. Michael jumped at the chance to go to this national conference to see how the rest of the country is utilizing their problem-solving courts, and an added bonus, it was in the world's country music capital!

Aside from experiencing Nashville, Michael's favorite part of the conference was "nerding out" with thousands of other professionals that share the same passion as him and realizing there is always room for improvement.

Our criminal mitigation specialist, Erin, had the opportunity to attend the Forensic Social Work Alliance Conference in New Orleans in May. The FSWA focus' on improving networking for professionals, providing resources and encouraging professional development through education, and advocating for programs and policies that promote social, racial, economic and environmental justice and equality - specifically for families, individuals, and communities impacted by the legal system. Erin deep dives into the lives of our clients, helping them successfully navigate the criminal justice system as well as their day to day while being involved in it, making this a very beneficial training for her to be able to participate in. One of the keynote speakers at the conference was Helen Prejean from "Dead Man Walking," and Erin really appreciated a quote she shared: “Everyone is worth more than the worst thing they have ever done.”

Thank you to the Forensic Social Work Alliance for hosting!
