May 12, 2026 will be a milestone for my professional career. On that date, May 12, 1976, I was licensed to practice law in the State of South Carolina. Fifty years of practice is a long career in any profession. It has been a honor for me to serve the people for fifty years. I’d love to be able to do it for another fifty. The turning point for me was being able to see my service as a ministry for helping people. When work becomes your ministry it is something you look forward to doing. I recently saw a series about Lainey Wilson country music singer. She asked Reba McEntire what she should do when her career became boring and she felt like quitting, and Reba gave her excellent advice. She said to do it for others not herself. I think the same. I couldn’t do this fifty years for me. The last twenty have been for others. I pray God continues to bless me with good health and a clear mind to continue to help others until I’m ready to retire and lock that law office door for the very last time. Thank you all who have made this journey possible for me. Blessings!
