Meet the presenter for Family Dynamics: Building Resilience Through Healthy Roles and Relationships, Joel Levine, LCSW, LPC, LCADC, LMFT!

Joel Levine is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) which combines training experience with clinical practice to enhance the Motivational Interviewing model internationally. He has recently completed all three levels of the Gottman Training. Joel is an experienced mental health educator and clinician with a Masters in Social Work at Fordham University specializing in Substance Use Disorders. He has studied with William Miller, PhD and Theresa Moyers, PhD at the University of New Mexico as part of a study implementing Motivational Interviewing techniques. Mr. Levine is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor and is certified by AAMFT, NASW, NBCC and APCBNJ as an approved Supervisor.

New Jersey Statewide Independent Living Council is holding a Public Forum on Monday, August 31st at 12pm at the Hamilton Hilton Garden Inn.

✔Learn about NJ SILC and Centers for Independent Living.
✔Hear about their current systems advocacy activities.
✔Discuss Independent Living issues affecting people with disabilities.
✔Suggest concerns for SILC to address in NJ’s 2027 IL State Plan.

Long-term family caregiving can affect far more than a person's schedule; it can take a toll on the caregiver's health over time. Years of interrupted sleep, chronic stress, emotional strain, financial pressure, and constant responsibility can leave very little opportunity to recover. Many caregivers become so focused on keeping someone else well that their own needs gradually move to the bottom of the list. Caregivers are human beings with bodies and minds carrying extraordinary responsibility, and they need care,
too.
