This one is personal. 💛 On this week’s episode of Thriving to the Finish Line, I interviewed my dad.

He’s 84. He walks three miles a day, still goes to work (unpaid, just for the love of it), hosts neighborhood “chokefests” where he cooks artichokes for friends, and goes fishing with a bottle of ch*****ne. He says catching a fish is optional.

We talked about friendship, staying active, generosity, honesty, and what it really means to live fully until the very end. He also told me he planned to die at 80. He’s still here, and still having a great time.

If you have a parent or grandparent in their 80s or 90s, or you’re thinking about what you want your own later years to look like, I think you’ll love this conversation.

Genna Fasullo LaPeer is enjoying Leadership Gainesville through the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce! Firm colleague Zach Mayo-Frey went through LG in the last class.

Leadership Gainesville (LG) is a 10-month community leadership program designed to develop the skills leaders need to excel. The program includes a combination of in-depth issue seminars and skills development designed to enhance self-awareness of leadership approaches.
The program provides community immersion experiences and advanced skill development which enable participants to explore critical issues in Gainesville’s business environment.
