Whew, it's been 4 years since my heartstring gained his wings! This year hit a bit different! I'm not sure what my triggers were, but grief has had me in a chokehold ... but GOD!
As I started to sing this morning, leading the song and tears began flowing. I felt an overwhelming moment of grief and I turned to tell the Praise Team, that I couldn't do it, I couldn't sing! In that moment as I thought of the words to the song... Only you can satisfy my heart... I knew that worship was exactly what I needed to be doing! I didn't need to sit down and drown in tears or sorrow, but I needed to push through! I needed gaze upon HIM in the sanctuary, to see HIS power and HIS glory. What an amazing move of God we experienced on today. Glad I didn't let grief cheat me out of it! 🙌

I miss my Khy so much, but I am thankful for the great memories that I have of one of the most awesome human beings I have ever met.... and I got to call him SON! Love you Khy! 💙

Happy Resurrection Day!

I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.”
It’s been 5 weeks since I have been in church (or anywhere other than PT)!
It was a blessing to be at V-Life on today!

This 2nd Knee Replacement Surgery has been quite a challenge, but I trust that it will be well worth it! God is faithful!! 🙏🏾🙌🏽💃🏾

And this fine man here… whew! Thank you Lord for my husband, he has waited on me hand and foot (literally)! Thank you babe for your unconditional love! 😘❤️

On this day in 1804 William Whipper, the first black notary, was born. As a notary, commissioned in 1833 in Pennsylvania, Mr. Whipper helped facilitate the purchase of freedom for enslaved individuals. He was a very successful businessman who owned several pieces of real estate as well as ran lumber yards along the river. Whipper was also an investor in some large railroad companies. Mr. Whipper is most well-known for being an active Abolitionist. Using his lumberyard, he ran a major station of the Underground Railroad saving hundreds of runaway slaves escaping to the north for freedom. The lumberyards were located close to the entrance of the historic Columbia Bridge. William Whipper’s home was near the bridge entrance, and he often awoke in the night to help people seeking freedom from slavery enter Columbia. He would feed, house, and help them to freedom sometimes by sneaking them into hidden compartments in the railroad cars used to haul lumber. William Whipper had a big impact on the black community, but he was not recognized during his lifetime because of his sensitive role as a black abolitionist during such a turbulent time in history.
