10 years later

in 2014, Eric Garner's interaction with a police officer ended in Garner's death. He was held down on the pavement in a prohibited chokehold and handcuffed.

His last words were, “I can’t breathe."

The officer lost his job after an NYPD investigation, but he was never criminally charged.
