Federal Reserve officials paused further rate cuts after three straight reductions, resisting pressure from President Trump to lower borrowing costs.

In a 10–2 vote, the Fed, including Chair Jerome Powell, kept the federal funds rate unchanged, signaling confidence in the economy. Powell said current policy is “appropriate” to support maximum employment and 2% inflation, adding the Fed is well positioned to monitor incoming data before making its next move.
