Happy 250th Independence Day, America. 🇺🇸
Today, I’m celebrating more than our nation’s birthday—I’m celebrating the opportunities this country has given my family and me.
In the 1980s, my parents made the life-changing decision to leave Taiwan and bring my two brothers and me to the United States. They sacrificed the comfort of everything they knew for the hope of a better future. It was a leap of faith, and one I’ll never stop being grateful for.
We didn’t begin with wealth or connections. We began with opportunity.
Because of the freedoms and possibilities that exist in this country, and through years of hard work, perseverance, and faith, I’ve been able to build a life that once seemed unimaginable. A family I cherish, a career I love, lifelong friendships, and the ability to enjoy the blessings that come from pursuing the American Dream.
To me, that’s what makes America so extraordinary. While success is never guaranteed, the opportunity to earn it is available to anyone willing to work for it. That promise has changed the lives of millions of families—including mine.
As we celebrate 250 years of independence, I also want to express my deepest gratitude to those who came before us. To the visionaries who founded this nation, and to every man and woman who has sacrificed to defend the freedoms we enjoy today—thank you. Because of your courage and commitment, families like mine were given a chance to build a better life.
I’m proud to call America home, proud of my parents’ courage, and grateful every day for the opportunities this country has provided.
