October is National Pedestrian Safety Month.
Crossing is a two-way street! Drivers and pedestrians both have a responsibility to keep the roads safe.
Drivers need to stay focused, alert, obey streets signs and lights and remain out of the crosswalks.
Pedestrians need to make sure that drivers can see them, use a crosswalk, cross at corners, and always look both ways before stepping off of the curb.

Don't fall into a speed trap this week.
The New York State Police are targeting speeding and aggressive drivers through Sunday as part of the “Fall Safe Speed” enforcement campaign. Troopers are also actively looking for drivers who violate New York’s “Move Over” Law.

Speeding is listed as a contributing factor in nearly one third of all fatal crashes in New York State.
