It’s honestly surreal to share the stage with them, even if my part is just a short speech about our program. Thank you to Senator Jack Johnson and Representative Lee Reeves for the surprise Proclamation recognizing 25 years of Recovery Court’s service to the community. It’s an honor to serve as President of this life changing organization!

The most rewarding part of this profession is walking people through the most difficult times of their life, believing in them when many won’t, and watching the beauty of redemption and restoration unfold in front of you. I can’t begin to describe how proud I am of my client turned good friend, Michael Rositano. He has a heart of gold and our community is lucky to have him.

He turned his addiction and recovery into a mission to help others and last night he was recognized with Franklin Tomorrow’s Volunteer Spirit Award.

Congratulations, Michael! Thank you for your support of the 21st District Recovery Court Program and for being so brave to publicly speak and let your story be told everywhere!

Williamson County Mayor Rogers Anderson has announced the closing of all Williamson County Government operations for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, because of current weather conditions.

These closures include the Juvenile, General and Circuit and Chancery Courts.

Joyce is truly one of a kind. To endure what she did and still fight for the truth is a testament to her incredible spirit.

Today marks four years since Joyce Watkins was fully exonerated after 27 years of wrongful incarceration. On January 12, 2022, all charges were dismissed against Joyce, affirming her innocence in the 1988 murder and sexual assault case that had upended her life.

Joyce was charged alongside her partner, Charles Dunn, who was posthumously exonerated after passing away while still incarcerated. She is the first Black woman to be exonerated in the state of Tennessee.

Today, Joyce continues to fight for justice as a member of our Board of Directors, sharing her insight and courage to help others still behind bars for crimes they did not commit.

We honor Joyce and Charles today, remembering the decades they endured and recommitting ourselves to the work of righting these wrongs and fighting for the wrongfully convicted.
