It's become a tradition to post this every year on Veteran's Day because we just can't think of a better way to say it...

Thank you to all veterans and military personnel that have so bravely served our country, including our own Judge James D. Ruppert (1936 - 2021) and Judge Rupert Ruppert. Jim graduated from West Point Military Academy and received an Army Commendation Medal. Rupert served during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star.

We also remember the service of Ronald R. Ruppert, Edward Ruppert and Paul Ruppert during WWII. Below is an excerpt from a speech given by Jim Ruppert about his family’s military background which is reflective of our appreciation for all veterans and military personnel.

“MY PERSONAL CONNECTION TO THE GREATEST GENERATION OF AMERICANS – A PHRASED COINED BY TOM BROKAW – WAS BY WAY OF MY THREE OLDER BROTHERS, PAUL, ED AND RON. THE YOUNGEST, RON, ENLISTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER HIGH SCHOOL, BUT VERY NEAR THE WAR’S END. MY OLDEST BROTHER, PAUL, WAS A P51 PILOT WHO SERVED IN BOTH THE NORTH AFRICAN AND THE ITALIAN CAMPAIGN. HIS AIRCRAFT WAS SHOT DOWN OVER ITALY AND, FORTUNATELY, CRASHED NEAR FRIENDLY FORCES WHERE HE WAS RESCUED. MY BROTHER, ED, WHO WAS IN PATTON’S THIRD ARMORED DIVISION, WAS SERIOUSLY WOUNDED DURING A CROSSING OF THE RIVER RHAN, BUT ALSO FORTUNATELY ESCAPED DEATH. THEY WERE BOTH AMONG THE FORTUNATE WHO SURVIVED THAT WAR.”
