If you're looking to buy a home in Massachusetts you most likely have noticed that the inventory has been extremely low, especially in those "first time home buyer" price points. Open houses have lines around the block, and buyers are bidding tens to even hundreds of thousands of dollars over the listing price. So how can you give yourself an "edge" in this market?

The key is to start with a great team. You need to get yourself a SOLID pre-approval, with a loan officer/mortgage broker who will be able to field questions from a listing agent on nights and weekends.

Secondly, you need the right realtor/agent. There is no "one size fits all" when it comes to lenders and realtors and it is important to find someone you get along well with, because you will be communicating with them during the entire home buying process.
