Glad Judge Hensley stood up for her beliefs and the . The initial discipline was clearly wrong and the Commission overstepped. It’s unfortunate it cost Texas taxpayers so much in fees.

🚨BREAKING: Texas judge Dianne Hensley has won a major legal victory after being disciplined for refusing to officiate same-sex weddings due to her religious beliefs.

Judge Hensley, based in Waco, received a $10,000 settlement plus over $630,000 in attorneys’ fees. A Travis County district court ruled in her favor, affirming that the Texas Commission on Judicial Conduct violated her religious freedom rights.

The court prohibited further discipline against her for following her sincerely held faith, consistent with Texas religious freedom law and recent state Supreme Court guidance allowing judges to opt out of such ceremonies.

This is a strong win for religious liberty!
