Filing for a name change needs to be notarized because: It serves as a legal verification that the person signing the document is who they claim to be and that the information provided is accurate, helping to prevent fraud and ensuring the legitimacy of the request in a court of law.

Notary knowledge of the day.
Did you know There are different types of Power of Attorney’s???

General- Allows someone to act on your behalf in a variety of matters, such as business dealings. This type of POA is not ideal for end-of-life planning because it ends when the principal becomes incapacitated

Medical- Allows someone to make decisions about your medical care if you are unable to do so. This is different from a living will, which lets you state what medical procedures you do and do not want

Limited- Grants someone the right to perform specific actions for you. For example, a Texas DMV form can grant someone the authority to purchase, transfer, or assign a motor vehicle on your behalf

Durable- Lasts after the principal becomes incapacitated or begins upon it. It ends when the principal dies, revokes the POA, or a guardian is appointed for the principal
