You’ll need information about your income, debts, expenses, assets, creditors, and more. Missing or incorrect information can create problems later.

📌 Your bankruptcy petition is filed.
Once the case is properly filed and a case number is issued, the automatic stay generally stops most collection activity, including certain lawsuits, garnishments, and collection calls.

📌 A trustee is assigned.
The trustee reviews your case and your property. Some property may be protected by exemptions, while nonexempt property could potentially be used to pay creditors.

📌 You attend a meeting of creditors.

4️⃣ Add the right documents

We experience this firsthand.

A client comes to us for an uncontested divorce document preparation. Both spouses appear to be on the same page. We gather the information, prepare the documents, and everything is moving along.

Then, right when the documents are ready, something changes. One spouse no longer agrees.

Maybe it’s the property.
Maybe it’s the kids.
Maybe it’s support.
Or sometimes, it’s simply that one person changes their mind.
