On March 25, 2021, the Texas legislature passed two bills that change Texas labor code requirements and add additional liability for employers facing claims of s*xual harassment.
These bills were subsequently signed into law by Governor Greg Abbott, and will apply to conduct occurring on or after September 1, 2021. This expansion of s*xual harassment liability under the Texas labor code will serve to benefit employees bringing claims of s*xual harassment against managerial agents and small business employers.
