The Walton Law Group is pleased to announce that Attorney Gilberto de Jesús has joined our firm.
Gil is from New York City and received his B.A. from Columbia University and J.D. from George Washington University.
He worked as an attorney at the Federal Communications Commission. He served as an assistant U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia and as a trial attorney in the Office of International Affairs in the United States Department of Justice. Gil was a prosecutor in the homicide unit in the U.S. Attorney's Office in D.C.
He was named by Governor Parris Glendening of Maryland to serve as Secretary of the Maryland Department of Juvenile Services, becoming the state's first Hispanic Cabinet secretary. Gil also served as a consultant for the Maryland Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He worked for U.S. Senator Benjamin Cardin, where he directed the Senator's work on the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
Before coming to WLG, he last served as the senior legal advisor to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and as the acting director of the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization at the United States Department of Transportation.
Gil has assumed responsibility as the chief litigator for WLG, as well as for other cases.
