A new law that went into effect this year that requires civil cases with an amount in controversy up to $30,000 to be filed in the County Court instead of the Circuit Court. This law will significantly increase the County Court’s civil caseload. Throughout my 36 years as an attorney, I have learned how to handle a heavy caseload, all while bringing the same level of care and attention to every one of my cases.

As we try to recover from the COVID-19 crisis we will be tasked with overseeing the unfortunate increase in eviction notices. We need County Court Judges with the experience and the sensitivity to handle the increase in these difficult cases. Just as I have handled every case with care and attention it deserves as an attorney, I will do the same as Broward County Court Judge. Together, we can overcome the unprecedented challenges facing us in the aftermath of COVID-19.
