It was great meeting with Broward County Property Appraiser Marty Kiar and BCPA's Crimes Against Property Team on Wednesday morning to discuss the growing problem of deed fraud affecting seniors in Broward County.
We shared some of the trends we are seeing, the civil legal tools available to help protect homeowners, and ways our teams can work together to identify problems early and prevent seniors from losing their homes.

On Monday, it was such a privilege for Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida to be invited to participate in an affordable housing roundtable with Representatives Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Emanuel Cleaver!
We were grateful for the opportunity to share the work we are doing every day in our community, especially helping our low-income seniors remain safely housed, and to hear new ideas and solutions for improving access to safe and affordable housing.

We're proud to recognize our very own Victoria S*xton, who recently served as a presenter alongside ASA Alina Avalos at Broward's County-Wide Anti-Child S*x Trafficking/CSEC & Safe Harbor Training.

Together, they highlighted CCLA's and the Broward State Attorney's Office collaborative trauma-informed Human Trafficking Expungement Program and discussed how our survivor-centered approach helps individuals overcome legal barriers and move forward with confidence.

Thank you to all the presenters for sharing your knowledge and dedication to serving survivors and strengthening our community's response to human trafficking.
