Our summer interns had the opportunity to visit the courthouse today and observe court proceedings firsthand!

Experiences like these provide valuable insight into the legal system and help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice. From observing courtroom procedures to seeing attorneys and judges in action, it was a great educational experience that offered a deeper understanding of the justice system.

We are excited to continue supporting our interns as they learn, grow, and explore the many facets of the legal profession this summer!

Great news for access to justice! A bipartisan coalition of 40 state and territory attorneys general is urging Congress to continue funding LSC, recognizing the vital role legal aid plays in communities across the country.

As the attorneys general write, “Congressional investment in LSC is essential to ensure that our legal system works for all Americans, not just those who can readily afford lawyers.”

From helping veterans secure benefits and supporting disaster survivors to protecting seniors from financial exploitation, LSC-funded organizations help millions of Americans overcome critical civil legal challenges and access the justice they deserve.

Our attorneys attended the Florida Domestic Violence Collaborative Conference at the Boca Raton Innovation Campus, where advocates, attorneys, and community partners came together to strengthen the fight against domestic violence.
This impactful two-day conference focused on deepening the skills and knowledge of those who support survivors, hold perpetrators accountable, and work toward ending domestic violence.
The theme — Collaborate. Connect. Act. — reminds us that meaningful change happens when we work together:
🤝 Collaborate to inspire change
💜 Connect with those who share the mission
⚖️ Act to help create a society free from domestic violence

Our Victim Rights Attorneys recently attended the NCVLI 2026 Conference in Portland, Oregon, where they joined victim rights professionals from across the country to learn about cutting-edge advocacy techniques, trial strategies, and emerging developments in victim rights law.

The conference provided valuable opportunities to explore victim rights case studies, learn from leading experts in the field, and strengthen the skills needed to effectively advocate for crime victims. Our team was also pleased to connect with fellow Florida legal aid attorneys from Florida Legal Services and Gulfcoast Legal Services, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices to better serve survivors throughout our state.

We are proud to bring this knowledge back to our community as we continue our commitment to empowering and advocating for victims' rights.

CCLA welcomes our two FFLA Summer Fellows, Addie and Noelle!
Addie and Noelle are law students who will be spending their summer with CCLA’s Senior Law Unit, learning about legal aid and helping us serve seniors in our community.
They are already getting a firsthand look at the work we do, including riding along with our Mobile Justice Squad to help a homebound senior.
A special thank you to Funding Florida Legal Aid for running this fellowship program and helping make opportunities like this possible.
Welcome, Addie and Noelle. We’re so glad you’re here!
