In Mississippi, June 8, 2026, is the deadline for both federal and state tax filings after an extension was granted by both the IRS and MS Dept. of Revenue due to the severe winter storms earlier this year. Whitehead Law and Consulting, PLLC recovered $25,000 in insurance policy limits for one of our personal injury clients who, while briefly stopped in his car and lawfully awaiting his turn to go at an intersection, was hit and injured by a careless drunk driver.

We are proud that we were able to resolve this matter relatively quickly compared to how long these cases sometimes take. Our goal is always to move with excellence, urgency, and strategy to help our clients get the relief they deserve.

📢 Important Tax Reminder📢

At , we provide Christ-centered, competent, and compassionate corporate counsel, and part of that commitment is making sure our community stays informed about important matters that may affect them.

Due to the severe winter storms earlier this year, the IRS and Mississippi Department of Revenue have extended tax filing and payment deadlines to June 8, 2026, for taxpayers in all 82 counties of Mississippi.

This extension applies to many filings originally due during the affected period, including:

• Individual income tax returns
• Corporate income and franchise tax returns
• Pass-through entity tax returns
• Quarterly estimated tax payments

⚠️ Please be advised that you generally should not need to pay an additional fee for someone to file a separate extension on your behalf through June 8th. We learned earlier that some taxpayers may be unaware of this relief, so we encourage everyone to ask questions and stay informed before paying unnecessary fees to tax preparation agencies.
