If you think an estate plan is just a will, you're not alone. That's one of the most common things we clear up for clients.

A full plan usually also includes a trust, financial and healthcare powers of attorney, and a plan for dependents, whether that's minor children or pets. Just as important: your assets need to be mapped and aligned with the plan, the right people need to know it exists, and it needs to be updated as your life changes.

The paperwork is the starting point. Coordination and follow-through are what make it hold up when it matters.
