What do falling in love, earning a six-figure salary, signing contracts, building wealth, and planning for catastrophe have in common? They all come with legal consequences that nobody adequately prepares you for.
On Tuesday October 27, the UGA Medical School invited UGA School of Law students to a law and medical student mixer and conversation about legal issues that matter most to young professionals. The discussion focused on the legal traps young professionals encounter, the expensive mistakes they can avoid, and the things they should understand before they start earning serious money. We touched on everything from contracts and taxes to asset protection, relationships, disability, and death, and it was a fun opportunity for law and medical students to connect, socialize, and build relationships across professional disciplines.
This is the first in a planned series of collaborative events between the two schools. Stay tuned for an event at UGA School of Law in Spring 2027.
