Today we celebrate the women who are often the quiet strength behind the family, the steady hand in difficult times, and the heart that keeps everything together. Mothers carry burdens few ever fully see, yet still give love, guidance, sacrifice, encouragement, and protection without hesitation.

On this Mother’s Day, we give thanks for the moms, grandmothers, stepmothers, adoptive mothers, foster mothers, and every woman who has stepped into the role of caregiver, protector, mentor, and source of unconditional love.

The truth is, one day is never enough to honor what mothers do. Every day should be Mother’s Day.

🚨 GRACE PERIOD OVER — ENFORCEMENT STARTS NOW 🚨

Drivers, take notice: the warning period has ended. Citations are now being issued for illegally passing a stopped school bus in Georgia.

What the law requires (O.C.G.A. § 40-6-163):When a school bus is stopped with its stop arm extended and red lights flashing, you must STOP:

All directions on two-lane roads

All directions on multi-lane roads without a physical median

Opposite direction traffic may proceed ONLY if there is a divided highway with a raised median or physical barrier

Penalties you can expect:

Up to $1,000 fine

6 points on your license

Potential license suspension for repeat offenses

Possible criminal misdemeanor charge

This is not a technical violation — it is a child safety law. Most incidents occur during loading and unloading when children are crossing the roadway.

⚠️ Bottom line: If the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is out, you stop. No exceptions, no assumptions.
