Ambulance districts all over Missouri are seeing increases in demand, which is part of the reason that 72 of the 108 ambulance districts have made the transition to a sales tax and reduced or eliminated their property tax. When there is no local hospital, and the clinic closes on Friday afternoon, EMS becomes the primary healthcare provider for the next 63 hours until the clinic reopens on Monday morning.

Our ambulance crews are busier than ever. The number of 911 calls keeps growing every year, making it harder for our team to keep up. We need a better way to pay for these vital services so we stay ready for you.
The proposed sales tax makes sure everyone who visits our county helps pay their fair share, which takes pressure off local property owners. It’s the fair path forward for funding our safety.

We are excited to support the Howard County Ambulance in their efforts to reduce our local property tax.
