Does your estate plan still reflect your life today?

Relationships change. People move. Families grow. Businesses change. The person you trusted with an important responsibility five years ago may no longer be the right choice today.

Your estate plan should reflect your current relationships, responsibilities, wishes, and circumstances, not simply who you were when the documents were signed.
If it's been several years since you reviewed your estate plan, Faithful Stewardship Law Firm can help you determine whether it's time for an update.

Who would speak for you if you couldn't speak for yourself?

Your healthcare agent may someday be asked to make difficult medical decisions, communicate with physicians, and advocate for the wishes you've already expressed.

Choose someone who can remain calm under pressure, ask difficult questions, and honor your preferences, even when those preferences may differ from their own.
A healthcare agent isn't simply a name on a document. It's someone you're trusting with an incredibly important responsibility.

Faithful Stewardship Law Firm can help you put your wishes in writing and prepare for the unexpected.

Choosing a trustee is about more than choosing someone you trust.

A trustee may be responsible for managing assets, maintaining records, communicating with beneficiaries, and following your instructions for years.

Consider someone with integrity, financial responsibility, sound judgment, and the willingness to faithfully carry out the purpose of your trust.

When you're planning for future generations, choosing the right person matters.

Faithful Stewardship Law Firm helps Rockwall County families create trusts and estate plans tailored to their needs and values.

Don't let an emergency be the first time someone learns they're part of your estate plan.
If you've named someone as your executor, trustee, financial agent, or healthcare agent, talk with them now.
Explain the responsibility. Ask whether they're willing to serve. Tell them where the important documents are located and who to contact when the time comes.
A thoughtful conversation today can prevent uncertainty later.
Estate planning isn't only about preparing documents. It's about preparing people.

Who would manage your finances if you couldn't?

A financial power of attorney can give someone you trust the authority to handle important financial matters if you're unable to manage them yourself.
That could include paying bills, managing accounts, communicating with financial institutions, or handling other financial responsibilities.
Because you're potentially giving someone significant authority, choose based on integrity, judgment, and responsibility—not simply family relationship.

The person you love most may not be the right person to manage your estate.

That can be hard to admit.

When choosing the people who will step in if you cannot, closeness matters. But so do judgment, reliability, availability, and the ability to carry out your wishes when decisions get difficult.

For single adults especially, there may not be an obvious person to name.

So instead of only asking, “Who am I closest to?” ask:

“Who can faithfully carry out this responsibility?”

Choosing well is more than filling a name into a legal document.

It is an act of stewardship.

If you’re creating your estate plan for the first time, or it has been a while since you reviewed the people you named, we’d be honored to help you think through those decisions with confidence, purpose, and peace of mind.

Every parent hopes to leave something behind for the next generation.

But a lasting legacy requires more than assets.

It requires wisdom.
Direction.
Purpose.

At Faithful Stewardship Law Firm, we believe estate planning is about preparing your family not only to receive an inheritance, but to steward it faithfully. Because the greatest legacy isn't measured by what you leave behind. It's measured by what future generations do with what they've been entrusted with.

Save this post as a reminder that stewardship begins long before an inheritance is ever received.
